Christine Harmon

Each year The Turning Point/MPUSH honors a mother of the year- this year we honor Christine Harmon

Christine Harmon is an amazing, impactful, intelligent, passionate, energetic, and strong mother. She became a mother at the young tender age of 19. Christine loves to envision the birth of her first child, Wynter, as the turning point in her life. As a young mother juggling a full- time class schedule at The University of Delaware and working full time to provide for her daughter she learned many vital skills. Christine learned patience, perseverance, flexibility, and to rely heavily on her relationship with God for guidance. Christine credits the birth of her daughter as the time where her wisdom and maturity began to flourish. For she knew, there was a beautiful little girl who wanted to be just like her watching her every move. Christine was determined to show her daughter how to grow into a strong, powerful, young, and educated black woman.

Through all of her scholastic and career accolades, Christine met the love of her life Brandon Harmon to whom she married after only 9 months of dating. Christine loves to say Brandon was love at first site. The pair met during high school, and their paths continued to collide, especially when Christine’s cousin Katrina married Brandon’s best friend Ronald. It appeared their lives continued to intertwine.

Together Brandon and Christine raised Wynter and Menay. God later blessed them with 3 additional children. They have 3 beautiful daughters, Charity, Charlize and Camille Harmon. Life as a family couldn’t prove to be better with Christine with two jobs as a lead scientist in two hospitals, and Brandon managing and leading multiple cellular retail stores throughout Delaware and Pennsylvania. They had what they envisioned as the perfect Christian family, careers, cars, and home. However, what they soon realized is they lacked quality time.

Today, Christine likes to describe herself as a mother reborn. A woman who is open to see all that God has destined for her. A woman who can overcome great heartache, tragedy and stress. A mother who can have It all. A woman who believes in following her dreams.
She has successfully built two business with her husband and works solely as an entrepreneur.
